Location: Tetley’s Quarry
Task: In 2007, Hauraki DC engaged us to perform a full survey of designated areas where overburden removal & dumping was to occur. As the volumes involved were typically over 110,000m3, it was necessary for the council to obtain resource consents from the regional council (EW) prior to earthworks taking place.
This was a challenging survey for us as we used reflector-less equipment and GPS and the terrain was steep & on occasions potentially dangerous.
We are now assisting the council with earthworks quantity assessment as the work progresses. Part of this assessment is the liaison with the contractor’s surveying team to ensure all parties properly understand what has been measured and what assumptions are made
Our reports to the Client Representative will be informative and describe in detail the operations that took place, the measurements made, the comparisons of volumes and recommendations for payment.
Equipment: RTK GPS / Reflectorless Total Station
